因为唐玄宗这个称号中有一个“玄”字，正好与清朝康熙皇帝的名字“玄烨”中的“玄”字相同，为避康熙名讳，所以康熙年间的人们称呼唐玄宗为唐明皇，之后李隆基就有了唐明皇的叫法。
